Let's face it--sooner or later most of us start to see wrinkles around our eyes. But, a simple and safe new office procedure may soon make wrinkles around the eyes a thing of the past for many people.
Earlier this month the FDA granted approval to ICN Pharmaceuticals of Costa Mesa, California to market the first laser technology that safely removes wrinkles from the area surrounding the eyes.
The new therapy works quickly, efficiently removing wrinkles without damaging the skin's surface.
According to Professor Peter Bjerring of the University Hospital Aarhus, Denmark, lead author of a study recently published in the Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy, biochemical and clinical studies have conclusively shown that N-Lite can significantly increase the natural collagen production rate causing an improvement in skin tone and reduction of wrinkles without the side effects of traditional laser therapy.
In clinical trials, N-Lite was shown to benefit patients of various ages, with varying amounts of wrinkle severity, without side effects. The procedure is usually performed in the physician's office and does not require anesthesia. The typical procedure is completed in 20 minutes without discomfort.
ICN CEO and Chairman Milan Panic said, "There is a strong and growing demand fueled by aging baby-boomers for products that minimize the effects of aging with maximum convenience. N-Lite will allow patients to immediately return to work or go about their daily routine."
N-Lite laser treatment for eye wrinkle removal is currently being marketed into the offices of dermatologists and plastic surgeons nationwide. The procedure is also currently available in the European Union. If this sounds like something you are interested in, ask your physician about its availability in your area.
