Health News Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion With SPF 15
I spotted this one and figured I'd get it to try out. I bought mine for 7.99 for a 2.5 oz bottle, since we were at the Commisary, but it is currently priced at 10.99 for the same bottle at Drugstore.com. The Packaging: The box is a blue and white cardboard box. It's very simple looking. The product comes in a white plastic bottle with a pump on it. I really like the pump method because then I don't have to worry about contaminating my face product like I do when it's in a tube. Printed on the box are the following claims/instuctrions/and ingrediants. " A Multi-Vitamin Facial Treatment with Alpha-Hydroxy Acid. Softens and smoothes skin. Evens out blotchy and uneven skin tones. Reduces the appearance of fine lines. Daily SPF 15 helps prevent premature lines and wrinkles. Neutrogena Healthy SkinŽ Face Lotion is a daily multi-vitamin facial treatment designed to improve the texture of skin. Alpha-Hydroxy Acid gently sloughs dull, damaged skin to ease away fine lines, blotches and discolorations. Vitamin A and Pro Vitamin B5 increase firmness and build moisture levels. Anti-Oxidant Vitamins C and E help protect new skin and fight skin damage. PABA-Free SPF 15 sunscreens help prevent premature lines and wrinkles." I have noticed that after a week of using this product, my skin is much smoother. This could be because I also use St. Ives Apricot Scrub almost daily as well. I don't really have blotchy skin, and since I am only 22, wrinkles haven't appeared on my face yet...so those claims I cannot fairly say are true or are not true since they do not apply to me. Healthy Skin Face Lotion is: Oil free. Non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). Lightweight. Non-greasy. Allergy tested. Dermatologist tested. As part of any good skin care regimen, Neutrogena recommends daily use of a moisturizer with SPF 15 sunscreen to protect you skin during the day. Try Neutrogena Moisture SPF 15. Made in U.S.A. I have combination skin, with the oily T-zone going on, so it's nice to find an oil free face lotion w/ SPF. This is non-greasy, but I found that if I put the 2 pumps as the directions say, I can't get the lotion to absorb very well at all. It also ends up making my face shiny, so I have to use powder. 1 pump is better for me, than 2. Ingredients: Active Ingredients: Octyl Methoxycinnamate (7.5%), Benzophenone-3 (5%) Inactive Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycolic Acid, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Dicaprylyl Maleate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Glycolate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid Polypeptide, Panthenol, Bisabolol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea, Fragrance I don't know if it's the alcohol, but this product makes my face sting pretty badly when I put it on. This is probably because it has the Alpha-Hydroxy in it, and I tend to use it after exfoliating with the Apricot Scrub by St. Ives. The stinging stops after a few seconds, and my face isn't irritated looking. If you have sensitive skin, I would do a test patch or try it out on a day when you don't have to go anywhere just to make sure it isn't irritating. Does this product have a scent? Yes. It smells like sunless tanning lotion to me...it has that funky chemical smell to it that I don't like. Thankfully the smell dissapates after a few seconds. Putting makeup on after using the product is the same as after most mosturizers. It makes my skin soft enough so that the makeup goes on smoothly, but isn't super greasy. It also helps get rid of dry patches, so that the makeup doesn't settle into them. I have no idea how well foundation goes over it though, becuase I don't wear any. Don't get this stuff in your eyes though...it will hurt a lot. There is a warning on the package as well. If you do, washing them out with water will help. The lotion makes a really good night lotion because it's so thick. Using it has improved my skin. I have less blemishes, and my skin appears much smoother and healthy looking. All in all, I have to say that the lotion lives up to its' claims. While I have a few qualms with it, they aren't huge and I don't regret trying this out. I'll probably continue to use this since it has cleared my skin up. I also really like the fact that the sun protection is included. I have very fair skin and I like to forgo getting fried skin if I can help it! It is a fairly thick white cream that absorbs nicely into my skin. Product Reviews Comments / Discussions on this article Join Our Mailing List. We don't Annoy You !! Only 4 E-Mails in a month.
