There are so many reasons I ended up buying this product. I need a daily moisturizer, but one that is compatible with acne-prone skin and just doesn't feel greasy or like it is clogging my pores. It needs to moisturize, but without making my face look oily. Clearasil Total Control All-Day Mattifying Moisturizer Additionally, this moisturizer has is SPF 10. Ingredients Active Ingredients: Octyl Methoxycinnamate 5%, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane 3% Inactive Ingredients: Water, Dicaprylyl Maleate, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Sorbitan Stearate, C18-36 Acid Glycol Ester, Cetyl Alcohol, Kaolin, Phenoxyethanol, Butyrospermum Parkii, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lauryl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Propylene Glycol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Carbomer, Sucrose Cocoate, Camelia Oleifera, Xanthan Gum, Retinyl Palmitate, Potassium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, Laminaria Digitata, Zinc Chloride, BHT, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Ethylparaben, Tocopherol. I can't say that I am happy with the ingredients - not one looks remotely natural or non-chemical. But after years of battling with my skin and trying various moisturizers, and never finding anything near as good as this, I'm willing to compromise! My Thoughts There are tons of reasons as to why I love this Clearasil All-Day Mattifying Moisturizer. First and foremost? It lives up to it's promise of all-day matte moisturizing. When I leave work, I don't have an awful glare of oil on my face, yet I'm not dried out either (even after running my little heater all day at my desk). My makeup isn't dripping off my face, and my skin feels comfortable. I have no problem applying makup on my skin, after using this moisturizer. In fact, it goes on very nicely, compared to some of the other moisturizers, which cause makeup to literally skip over my skin. And, as a contact lens wearer, it is nice to have non-greasy skin, so that I don't have to worry about transferring oil or moisturizer into my eyes. In addition, this product is highly compatible with my skin. In the past, it has been a constant battle to find something that isn't too strong or too weak. My skin will totally dry up and get flaky if I don't wear moisturizer, and if I wear something greasy, my pores will get clogged (not to mention that oily appearance). With the Clearasil Mattifying Moisturizer, there are neither of those extremes. My skin feels balanced, and I never, ever experience any irritation or sensitivity with this product. The scent isn't anything particularly special or particularly bad. I don't really notice it that much, and it fades so quickly that it doesn't really matter. I would certainly notice if it lingered, because generally long-lasting scents tend to irritate me and become annoying. Once in a blue moon, when I've gone overboard with products meant to dry out my skin (acne products), I'll have to add a touch more moisturizer on a dry spot. I'll either dab on some more of this moisturizer, or I'll grab a heavy duty moisturizer, which isn't the end of the world. It happens very rarely, and it is never a concern for me. This product works so great that, in the times that I abuse my skin, I have to expect some repercussions! My skin has stayed clear, and the Clearasil All-Day Mattifying Moisturizer has done a good job not only keeping my skin balanced, but clear overall. The SPF is something I wouldn't normally think of, but it is a great addition to this product. I have had a problem either using a moisturizer and then adding on a sunscreen, using oily sunscreens, or not using sunscreen at all. Although an SPF of 10 isn't that high, it is just a little extra added bonus in there to help minimize the trauma that skin goes through. (I don't have to worry about sun that much anyway, during these NY winters!). I paid about $7.50 for this product, but after using it, I'd pay even more for it. (Don't tell that to Clearasil!). Overall, I love this product. It doesn't irritate my skin. It is well designed. My face gets the moisturizer it needs without being shiny, greasy, or oily.
