Health News Clearasil Total Control All-Day Mattifying Moisturizer
Appearance: Clearasil Total Control All Day Mattifying Moisturizer comes in a squatty little plastic cylinder that measures about 3 ½" top to bottom by about 2" in diameter. 2 ½" of the height is the actual container and the top inch is a wide rounded pump. There was a clear plastic cap, but it has either been trashed by now or is lost. The lid may have well been washed by now since I sort laundry on the bathroom floor. It's quite different looking to me but not strange. It holds 1.67 fluid ounces. The back states: For best results massage over face and neck after cleansing to hydrate the skin and keep shine prone areas under control. Use alone or under makeup to create a soft matte looking finish. Sounds good to me, let's give it a try. Application: I have never used any Clearasil products so I was a little afraid with my sensitive skin but it never hurts to try. I took it home and cleaned my makeup off just to use my new moisturizer. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It's not awful but it doesn't smell of roses either. The best I can describe it is a woodsy sunscreen. That description may not be right. I tried real hard to come up with a descriptive smell and that's what kept popping into my mind. The back of the container says it has green tea in it, maybe that's what I smell, but I am not sure since I don't know what green tea smells like. The smell is not that overwhelming and once it's a smoothed in I didn't notice it anymore, once I got used to it. I didn't look any mattier yet, but I hadn't done anything but look in the mirror either. It felt good on my skin, nice and soft. It didn't feel heavy at all. Very light. Again, once it was smoothed in it was barely noticeable. I thought I'd stick with it and see how it works out.I really liked that it had sunscreen in it. I rarely ever wear sunscreen which is just stupid of me, but who has time for a moisturizer, sunscreen, AND make up? I don’t. In the same hand I feel guilty that I didn’t use sunscreen. I would think when I am old I am gonna look like one of those old ladies that look like their skulls shrunk inside their head because of too much sun. Mark that worry off my list. Let’s just hope genetics doesn’t get the best of me. Furthermore I use Clearasil Total Control All Day Mattifying Moisturizer in the morning before I put on my makeup. I help my make up go on smoother and I notice less lines in my make up. I use my fingers to apply the foundation before the moisturizer is set and it seems I use less foundation. The moisturizer also seems to set the foundation with its mattiness. Is that even a word? How about flatness? You get the point. The Results: I have used this product for about 3 weeks now and I have to say my mind is made up. This stuff is a keeper. I have significantly less shine after a full day AND I the texture of my skin itself is noticeable smoother. I also think that applying a moisturizer can help with breakouts too. I have forever thought that moisturizers would just clog pores and make my face feel greasy but not all moisturizer are created equally. This one really does what it says it will do. I am giving 5 stars for this reason even with the smell factor. Proof: Even my sister commented on how smooth my skin looked without me telling her I had tried a new product. I could tell she was noticing something – she had the same look she gets when I have a huge zit. You know, when people tilt their heads to the side while having that ‘what happened?” look.
