Health News Philosophy's Thin Skin: Moisture For Dry and Sensitive Skin
thin skin is currently the most gentle moisturizer in the Philosophy line, and it’s one of the few without any alpha-hydroxy acids or similar exfoliants. While it’s very gentle and an excellent choice for sensitive skin, it’s very much a dry skin product. It’s so rich that I don’t like the way that it feels under make-up, and I generally only use it at night. The fact that I find this moisturizer to be almost too rich sometimes is the only thing keeping me from giving it a five star rating. This cream is clearly targeted for an older audience than myself, but that doesn’t stop me from purchasing it. My skin is so fair and dry that I’ve been using products designed for “mature skin” since my mid-twenties, as a part of an ambitious but ultimately doomed attempt to postpone the irritating reality of wrinkles as long as possible. This cream is the perfect combination of rich and gentle to keep my skin happy through the not-necessarily-frigid-but-still-harsher-than-my-hometown Texas winters. Should I ever find myself living in a cold climate – an early retirement in Durango or Aspen would be ideal, but a job change to somewhere cold in the East or Midwest would be more realistic - thin skin will probably become my year-round moisturizer. In the warmer months, I generally only use thin skin on the rare occasions that I get sunburned. It’s wonderful for keeping burned skin from peeling. My skin is fairly sensitive, but I’ve never had a reaction with thin skin. It has no added perfumes, but does have a light, natural scent that’s not much different than that of hope in a jar. I’ve listed the ingredients below, although this information is also available on the Philosophy web page (www.philosophy.com). While thin skin can’t really be called inexpensive ($30 for a 2 ounce jar), I find that it’s so rich that I don’t use much product with each application, and each jar lasts quite some time as a result. So, I do believe that thin skin is a good value, and is certainly less expensive than many comparable products that are aimed at dry and sensitive skin. However, I’ll still be using hope in a jar for most of the year, and only turning to thin skin in the harsher winter months. ingredients: water, glycerin, oryza sativa (rice) bran oil, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, cholesterol, arachidonic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, propylene glycol, aloe angogensis or aloe barbadensis leaf extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber), fruit extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower oil, hydrolyzed elastin, soluble collagen, salvia officinalis (sage) oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, triethanolamine, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, propylparaben, and diazolidinyl urea Recommended Yes Amount Paid (US$): 30 Fragrance: Barely noticeable scent Product Reviews in "Body Cream" Oil of Olay Total Effects i've gotten older my skin has become quite dry and incredibly sensitive, the slightest thing will set it off and i'm presented with a blotchy mess that takes days to recuperate. Philosophy's Thin Skin: Moisture For Dry and Sensitive Skin When the weather turns cold, I find that I need something a bit more moisturizing and gentle than hope in a jar, and I generally reach for Philosophy’s thin skin. Philosophy The Present for Fine Skin and Great Texture This is one perfect product. I've spent one heck of a lot more than $25.00 trying to find the perfect moisturizer. Origins Comforting Solution for Sensitive Skin My face turns flaming red, almost purple, and stings with just about every soap/lotion/cream out there. When I put Comforting Solution on my face, it felt cool and didn't burn. Comments / Discussions on this article Join Our Mailing List. We don't Annoy You !! Only 4 E-Mails in a month.
